Support for Bavarian SMEs at trade fairs abroad

Bavarian companies present themselves worldwide

The trade fair participation programme from the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs, Infrastructure, Transport and Technology enables small and medium-sized Bavarian companies (SMEs) to exhibit at trade fairs outside Germany under one roof. The programme takes in around 50 events each year.

Supported financially by Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs, Infrastructure, Transport and Technology and professionally organised by the team at Bayern International, in conjunction with business organisations such as chambers of commerce and associations.

The perfect entry point for companies into new markets

The trade fair participation programme serves as an important promotional instrument for small and medium-sized Bavarian companies looking to export. The programme makes it easier for them to develop new markets. Surveys show that 10% of our exhibitors are taking part in an exhibition beyond our borders for the first time. 80% of exhibitors would not have been able to take part in the event without the trade fair participation programme.

VDMA at a glance

The VDMA represents 3,000 mainly small/medium size member companies in the engineering industry, making it one of the largest and most important industrial associations in Europe.

Mechanical engineering is a key technology and a powerful engine driving the economy.  Accounting for sales of roughly € 173 billion (2010) and 920,000 employees (April 2011), mechanical engineering is one of the largest industrial sectors and employers in Germany. The products and services of the engineering industry are highly regarded worldwide. Roughly two thirds of German production is exported.

The VDMA covers the entire process chain - everything from components and plant manufacturers, system suppliers and system integrators through to service providers. We reflect the varied customer-supplier relations all along the value adding chain, permitting both industry-specific and intra-industry cooperation.

Representation

The VDMA lends a powerful voice to the views of its members both on the national and international level.

Network

Getting to know each other, sharing experience, working together - there are many topics which competitors, customers, suppliers or cooperation partners can discuss and bring forward. We provide the ideal platform here for all our members. The VDMA brings together the managers and directors, the department heads and specialists from the engineering industry.

The engineering industry is a multifacetted sector covering specialised but also general areas. Our regional associations, the broad spectrum of specialist associations, numerous research groups, committees and working groups all permit members to establish their own personal networks.
